From “Abundant Lives: A Progressive Christian Ethic of Flourishing” by Amanda Udis-Kessler
We can define integrated flourishing as the well-being that results from flourishing across multiple human attributes. The more we flourish in the context of each attribute, and the more attributes across which we flourish, the greater our overall well-being, the richer our lives, and the more we can tend to others and contribute to society.
The same is true of avoidable suffering. We can experience avoidable suffering across multiple human attributes in ways that build on one another, making it harder for us to flourish.
