Lessons Learned about Hearing Others

From “Wired to Lead: Being the Leader the Church Didn’t Think You Could Be” by Suzanne Nadell

In their book, The ONE Thing, Gary Keller and Jay Papasan talk about choosing one thing to be your goal. They say everything you do should feed that “one thing” instead of allowing your purpose to be scattered or diluted. The authors write,, “Extraordinary results are determined by how narrow you make your focus.”

That idea prompted me to take a different direction with planning. What was the “one thing” on which I could focus to make me a better wife, mother, boss, and follower of Jesus? Yep, listening. The sticky note that says “listen” remains on a work monitor as a daily reminder to do just that.
